Title: Addressing Men's Issues: A Holistic Approach to Achieving Gender Equality
Introduction: The pursuit of gender equality has largely focused on empowering women, with little attention given to the challenges faced by men. The lack of attention to men's issues has resulted in a significant gap in policy and support systems. However, recognizing and addressing men's issues is crucial in achieving gender equality. This article explores the importance of taking a holistic approach that includes addressing men's issues, including the rise of the men's rights movement and the importance of a healthy masculinity.
Recognizing Men's Issues: Men face a range of issues, including toxic masculinity, lack of emotional support, mental health problems, and the expectation to conform to traditional gender roles. These issues have often been overlooked, leading to a lack of support systems and policy interventions. By recognizing men's issues, we can take the necessary steps to address them and promote gender equality.
The Men's Rights Movement: The men's rights movement, or Men's Rights Activism (MRA), has emerged as a response to the lack of attention given to men's issues. The movement aims to promote men's rights and create policies that support men's well-being. However, it has often been criticized for perpetuating misogyny and promoting harmful gender stereotypes. While the MRA may not be the most effective way of addressing men's issues, it highlights the need for a more holistic approach to gender equality that includes men's issues.
Empowering Men: Empowering men is crucial in achieving gender equality. This includes creating equal opportunities in the workplace, promoting men's mental health, and breaking down harmful gender stereotypes. By creating policies that support men's well-being, we can create a society where everyone can thrive.
The Importance of a Healthy Masculinity: Traditional gender roles and stereotypes have negative impacts on men's emotional and mental health. A healthy masculinity involves breaking down these stereotypes and promoting healthier gender roles. This includes creating safe spaces for men to express their emotions and challenges without fear of stigma or shame. By promoting a healthy masculinity, we can create a society where men and women can express themselves freely and without judgment.
The Need for MenToo: The MeToo movement has brought attention to the issue of sexual harassment and assault against women. However, men also face these issues, and the lack of attention given to them perpetuates a culture of silence. The MenToo movement aims to create awareness about sexual harassment and assault against men and promote policies that support male survivors. By recognizing and addressing these issues, we can create a society that is safe for everyone.
Conclusion: Recognizing and addressing men's issues is crucial in achieving gender equality. By taking a holistic approach that includes addressing men's issues, promoting a healthy masculinity, and creating policies that support men's well-being, we can create a society where everyone can thrive. The rise of the men's rights movement and the MenToo movement highlights the need for a more inclusive approach to gender equality that recognizes and addresses the challenges faced by men.

ReplyDeleteI live in Maya Pur in West Delhi. ReplyDeleteI am originally from Kerala but settled in Dwarka, Delhi, for my IT job. I married in June 2022. By early 2023, my wife demanded that I sponsor her brother’s studies in Canada. When I refused, she filed DV and maintenance. In December 2023, she added 498A and even claimed my mother had beaten her.
ReplyDeleteDwarka police behaved as if they were her relatives. They kept calling me at odd hours, forcing me to “adjust” with her. I hired two different advocates in 2024, but both said, “Pay 10–15 lakhs and get rid of the problem.” I felt trapped.
In February 2025, after suffering for nearly two years, a family friend mentioned Atur Chatur Sir. He said, “Fees are on the higher side, but you will get unlimited drafts and call support afterwards.” I was hesitant but decided to try.
Sir came to our home in Dwarka in March 2025. He sat with my family, went through every single court date and police call, and then drafted LTRs that exposed the bias. He explained clearly that in Delhi, only strong written representations can force the system to act.
The impact was immediate. By April 2025, the Dwarka police started putting my evidence on record. By May, the magistrate who earlier ignored my side began questioning her contradictory claims. Even her lawyer, who once mocked me, asked for more time.
Today, my aged parents finally sleep without fear of sudden arrest. The high home consultation fee felt like a risk then, but with unlimited LTRs and urgent call help, it has turned into the best investment I ever made.
My marriage in October 2023 was celebrated with grandeur. By mid-2024, cracks began showing when my wife and her parents started demanding that I sell my Toronto flat and buy a house in Delhi in her name. I refused, and from that moment, my life turned upside down.
ReplyDeleteIn December 2024, she filed DV and 498A at GK-I police station, dragging my elderly father and even my younger sister into the case. The police didn’t even bother checking facts. They told me outright, “Once FIR is there, the whole family will have to compromise.” My lawyers in Saket Courts kept telling me, “It’s normal, just give money and close it.”
For months, I lived in fear. I would wake up in Canada to threatening calls from Delhi police. My parents kept suffering humiliation during every thana visit. Relatives stopped supporting us, saying, “You NRIs always fall into such traps.”
In February 2025, I came across Atur Chatur Sir through an old friend from South Delhi. He cautioned me that the home visit fee is high, but the real value lies in the unlimited LTRs and urgent call support that continues afterwards. At that stage, I was drowning. I agreed.
When Sir visited our GK-I home in March 2025, his confidence alone was half the solution. He dissected the FIR, explained how the police were overstepping, and immediately dictated LTRs that cornered the IO. He told me something I had never heard before: “Delhi bends only when you enforce, not when you plead.”
By April, the police began calling her side instead of harassing mine. By May, my objections started entering the court record for the first time. Even her lawyer, who earlier said “Rajeev will be jailed when he comes to India,” changed his tone.
The peace of knowing that I can call Sir anytime, no matter what the emergency, is beyond words. Unlimited LTRs and urgent guidance gave my family courage again. Yes, the fee was high, but in Delhi’s reality, nothing else works. For me, this wasn’t a legal expense — it was survival.
